MEET THE FOUNDER

Voices & Journeys

Is a space that was built from a very personal place.

It was born from my Journey.

Voices & Journeys wasn't created from a business plan or a career strategy.

It was born from lived experience — from knowing firsthand what it feels

like to carry something heavy, alone, in silence.

THE STORY BEHIND THE SPACE

I know what it's like to

carry it alone.

For years, I lived in a toxic, isolating relationship. On the outside, I kept up appearances, doing my best to hold everything together for my children, my family, and the world around me. On the inside, I was breaking. No one knew the full story. I felt ashamed, confused, and profoundly alone in a way that's hard to put into words.

When I finally found the courage to leave, I began the slow, quiet process of understanding what had happened — and of rediscovering who I was underneath it all. I sought counselling. I went back to school. I earned my Social Services Worker diploma. I rebuilt, piece by piece.

But even with all of that, I felt something was still missing. Something more human. More honest. More present than what clinical spaces often allow for. I wanted a place where people could simply talk — without being assessed, diagnosed, or guided toward a predetermined outcome.

One morning, completely unprompted, the words "emotional support service" arrived in my mind. I picked up my phone and started writing. And Voices & Journeys was born.

I built this because I needed it once — and I know others do too.

"One conversation can be a catalyst for clarity and healing".

MY APPROACH

Walking beside you,

not ahead of you.

My role in a session is not to lead, advise, fix, or diagnose. It's to be fully present with you while you find your own way through.

I believe that most people already carry the clarity they're looking for — they just need a safe, unhurried space for it to surface. That's what I create.

Every session is different because every person is different. There are no scripts, no frameworks, no pressure to arrive at a conclusion. You set the pace. I follow your lead.

WHAT I BRING TO EVERY SESSION

  • Mindful, empathic listening

Full, undivided attention — no interrupting, no redirecting, no rushing.

  • Emotional presence

Being genuinely with you in the conversation, not just observing it.

  • Gentle reflection

Mirroring back what I hear so you can see it more clearly yourself.

  • A judgment-free space

No emotion is too big, too small, or too complicated for this room.

  • Honest boundaries

If I ever feel you need a different kind of support, I will tell you gently and help you find it.

WHAT GUIDES THIS WORK

Values & Ethics

These aren't aspirations — they're the foundation of every single session.

Compassion

Every person who comes here carries a unique story, and every story deserves empathy. Compassion means meeting you where you are

— without assumptions, pressure, or judgment.

Confidentiality

What you share is held with care and respect. Your words stay here. Confidentiality is only broken in rare, serious safety situations — and you will always know what those are upfront.

Non-Judgment

There is no right way to feel. No emotion is too messy, too small, or too complicated. You can show up exactly as you are — uncertain, overwhelmed, hopeful, or anywhere in between.

Presence

During a session, you have my full attention. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is minimized. Support begins simply by being here, fully, genuinely here — with you.

Integrity

Honesty and ethical care guide every interaction. If I believe you need a different type of support, I will say so — gently, clearly, and with your best interests at heart.

Inclusivity

Everyone deserves a place where they feel welcomed and safe. Your background, identity, and lived experience are respected here. This is a space for all people, all emotions, all stories.

CLEAR BOUNDARIES

Honest about what this is - and what this isn't

Being clear about the scope of this service isn't a disclaimer — it's part of the care. You deserve to know exactly what you're stepping into so you can make the right choice for yourself.

Voices & Journeys can be used on its own or alongside therapy, counselling, or any other supports you're already engaged with.

“Deep listening is the kind of listening that can help relieve the suffering of another person.”

— Thích Nhất Hạnh
